Why do you use certain materials for your shoes?

Suede

The name suede comes from the French 'gents de suede' or 'Swedish gloves'. Suede is made from the inside of the animal skin. That's why this leather is so soft and refined.

Smooth leather

Leather is made from animal skin. We mainly use strong, thick and beautiful cowhides. Using leather has many advantages; it can easily adjust to support your foot shape and is moisture-regulating. All of our leather comes from Southern Europe (which is more durable and of better quality than leather from Asia).

Cork

Cork comes from the bark of the cork oak which is mainly grown in Spain and Portugal. The bark is constantly re-growing making this material both durable and environmentally friendly. Because cork contains air, it is lighter than water and a powerful heat insulator. Cork is also strong and elastic, perfect for making shoes.

Velour

Velour is a cut version of velvet. It is super soft due to the cutting and roughening of the pile loops. These fabrics are natural products and allow your feet to breathe. You can keep all fabrics (and other natural products) beautiful with a water-repellent spray.

Patent leather

Patent leather consists of a leather base underneath a flexible and waterproof synthetic layer. It has a gorgeous shine and allows moisture to simply slide off. Patent leather will remain beautiful if you care for it with a Spray and Shine. The outer layer is not a natural product, so do not use a water-repellent spray.

Satin

Satin comes from the Italian word seta. A beautiful and luxurious shiny woven fabric made of different types of fibres. This natural product will keep looking beautiful with a multi-spray and a little love of course.
